I love the pendant rostrata heliconia.  The cheerful disposition of bright red and yellow bracts add to any garden spot.  I have a clump ina corner of my old Wailuku home that doubles as a living privacy fence.

Title:  Yellow Roses

I planted a yellow rose in my garden 2 years ago.  In a garden that plays host to orchids, gingers, heliconias, and numerous other tropicals, it's quite amazing to see how a rose settled in and flower beautifully.  The delightful hill country Wailuku climate.

Jacquard silk dye on heavy Habotai silk.  This piece is mounted onto a natural cotton lined backboard and ready to put into a 16"x20" frame.


Title:  Two Koi

A very intricate batik of 2 butterfly koi.   This is a piece that requires a lot of skill and time to achieve.  Jacquard silk dye on heavy Habotai silk.

This piece is mounted on to a piece of plywood with a raw silk underlayment.  The entire artwork is coated with several coats of UV spray and then sealed under multiple layers of matte acrylic medium.  Ready to hang.
